Without further procrastination let me delve into the motives of this blog and my selfish aim for writing it, which goes bit further than my self gratification alone. This blog is also "habit" cum "commitment device" which will force me to read more , learn more and retain more. As one will say whats the point of bluster and bragging if I stop after my first few steps.

Around this time last year (2020) I was gripped by an existential angst and started an audit of myself and of the lengthy bucket list I had. The self diagnosis was that, I was spending too much time as a keyboard warrior and at that the worst kind of it. I was quoting facts and reason in social media which runs on vanity and self importance fuel. Therefore I decided it was time to pivot, though the query arose what should one do instead. I liked reading or at least like bragging about it but the lesson was lost on me as soon as I picked up the next book or article. There was only skimming of words and no assimilation of wisdom or knowledge.

Also I was working in the buzzword industry of "BIG DATA" and "Artificial Intelligence" and was doing fine but felt my repository of knowledge was not being utilized. Further more in the intervening years I also had an epiphany "talk is cheap" and the only way to learn and continue learning is by keep doing and trying new things.
​
Hence after much procrastination and after a whole year since I had hatched this plan here we are; and the future lies ahead which will judge me by how far I persist. Though succinctly the nouveau idea is to absorb knowledge and wisdom for myself and if someone finds it worthwhile that will be my insignificant contribution towards reducing the entropy in the universe.

Though there are 5 categories I would be mostly contributing to book review and analytics section of the blog. Analytics has it's own separate page as that would also entail my professional pursuits .

Book Reviews:
In this selfish act I seek to improve my oratory, writing and retain what I have read. Your comments and advise (constructive) are always welcomed. Though I am not above fame and vanity my aim is to persist and persevere and grow the list of books review from "5 to 60" and counting by this time next year. One may say public declarations of ambitions and lets see how short of them I fall.

Analytics Blog:
Again this blog will act as my "accountability partner" which will dissuade myself from resting on the laurels and always pushing me to learn and master new things. Also the lesson learnt so far is that when you are trying to explain it to others you yourself are the beneficiary of learning the basic concepts better. The commitment here is to have at least 60 to 100 posts in this section by this time next year. Further I aim to provide meaningful solution rather than haphazard trouble shooting code snippets.

I am also looking for fellow contributors and collaborators for my podcast which I seek to launch in the second half of 2021.
